Cross Match Names Jerry Zionic to Board of Directors
Retired Lockheed Martin Executive and USAF Reservist

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. February 5, 2009 – Cross Match Technologies, Inc., a global provider of biometric identity solutions, announced today that Jerry Zionic has joined the company's Board of Directors.

A seasoned executive, Mr. Zionic held several positions within Lockheed Martin including Vice President, New Business Ventures and Vice President for Advanced Programs. He managed the integration of a U.K. acquisition, INSYS, into Lockheed Martin, while serving as the interim Managing Director. Prior to his move to the U.K., Mr. Zionic was President at Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training and Support--a $1B operating element of the corporation's Electronic Systems Business Area.

While at Martin Marietta Corporation (MMC) in the 1990s, Mr. Zionic was responsible for new business pursuits and identified the criminal justice market as a focus for corporate growth. He spearheaded MMC's involvement in the national Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS), an automated fingerprint identification and criminal history system maintained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Once completed, Mr. Zionic leveraged the success to secure MMC's management of the FBI's Card Scanning Services (CCS) program.

"Mr. Zionic brings a strong general business background to the Board of Directors, as well as experience directly related to our business," says Donald Nickelson, Chairman of the Board of Cross Match Technologies, Inc. "It is with great pleasure and anticipation that we welcome him to Cross Match, as we will greatly benefit from his exceptional vision and expertise."

Before joining the private sector, Mr. Zionic completed more than 11 years of active duty with the United States Air Force (USAF). After his tenure with USAF Special Projects, Mr. Zionic held a civil service position at the Pentagon in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. Concurrently, he completed his last 9 years in the USAF as a weekend reservist for a total of 20 years of service.

Mr. Zionic, 66, was born in Hillsboro, Illinois and is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. He also holds two Masters of Science degrees for Aerospace Engineering and Information/Control Engineering from the University of Michigan. Additionally, Mr. Zionic graduated from Harvard University's Advanced Management Program in 1984.
